Virgin Voyages has designed an absolute ‘corker’ of a ship! Each Lady is the same, but the crew ensures a different experience on each vessel. The standard of (very thoughtful) details is high and the ship has a lovely ambiance. There are times when certain areas are for partying and having fun but there are also ample spaces to unwind and relax. The restaurants are truly superb and there are over 20 eateries onboard. Each bar has a different drinks menu. The crew were attentive and friendly, relaxed but very efficient. Everything is included onboard, except your bar tab (spa treatments, etc are, as usual, extra) and there’s an excellent range of shore excursions.
It might not be the right cruise for everyone, but everyone is welcome - if you’re young at heart, you’ll enjoy it. That can mean dancing in the pool at the Scarlet party (a lovely way to cool your feet!), singing karaoke, sitting in a quiet corner reading books/playing board games, or even playing retro arcade games (all free play!). No children are allowed, so the experience is elevated as a result!
I’m an introvert in my 50s, but I thoroughly enjoyed Scarlet night, playing Space Invaders in the arcade, being a team of one at Salty Trivia, and then chilling in my very comfortable cabin with a bottle of Veuve Cliquot on ice!
The cabins are very well designed but, should your budget allow, I'd highly recommend booking a suite to get the most from your Virgin Voyages experience.
Virgin Voyages won't be Down Under for the upcoming 24/25 Wave season but hopes to return in the following year. In the meantime, Resilient Lady is cruising in the Northern Hemisphere and they have just launched Brilliant Lady! Virgin Voyages remains a great option for many different reasons, but if you have any doubts, check with your travel advisor.
