Island hopping around the Greek Islands has been on my bucket list for a long time. I have previously done a small portion, but to have nearly a month to explore 4 islands was amazing. No rushing to see as much of the island in a day, but to do it at a leisurely pace.
We started in Santorini with the most amazing sunsets, location location location is everything in Santorini. A nightly sunset with a glass of wine and an antipasto platter is definitely the way to go. Saying that, Santorini has so much more to offer: wine tours and the red and black sand beaches. Shopping in Fira is always fun.
The best way to get between islands is by ferry. Quick and easy and a nice way to relax with a book for a few hours.
We headed to Milos next and stayed in a Fisherman's boat house in Klima. I adored it; they have been done up nicely, but it has the feel of a boat house. There are around 20 in a row and again sunset from here was amazing. We did a day sailing trip with Onerio to some amazing beaches. The local knowledge and stories made the day, so did the homemade wine and Ouzo. Milos needs a car if you are not staying in the town to make this steep island easy to get around.
Paros was our next stop and I really didn't know what to expect. Staying in the Naousa area with amazing laneways with beautiful shops but at night coming alive with restaurants and bars. We rode our quad bike to the village of Aliki, which is a small fishing village, and the food was so fresh, straight from the ocean. I think Paros was my favourite.
A short 45 min ferry to Mykonos for our last stop. Yes Mykonos can be a party town but it is also a beautiful place to explore. Mykonos town is electric day and night, and the windmills are a must-see. We stayed at the beautiful Petasos Beach Resort and Spa. Walking distance to some amazing beach clubs and restaurants. It was a fantastic way to finish our Greek island-hopping adventure.
