In no particular order, here are some holiday snaps from my favourite places in Europe.
This photo is THE epitome of my type of holiday. It reminds me of fantastic holidays spent with friends in Europe and leaves me yearning to return! The sun lounge sits on the edge of the swimming pool at a villa we rented that had an uninterrupted view across the valley to the hilltop village of Todi in Umbria, Italy. You might recognise this photo as the cover photo for my profile page. It also forms the basis for my company logo.
The view from the old town walls towards Lokrum Island.
In the words of Lord Byron, Dubrovnik is the Pearl of the Adriatic. It is a beautiful place to visit and spend some time. I have visited a few times now and would like to return someday.
Well-known Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí took over as the chief engineer for the construction of this amazing basilica in 1883. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site. It was certainly feeling more "complete" when I was last there in 2019.
The whitewashed walls of the town of Fira in Santorini rest on the edge of the caldera. I recommend booking a room with a balcony that overlooks the water and enjoying a glass of wine while watching the sunset. Head out to Perivolos Beach to enjoy a light lunch, visit Oia, a village perched on the northern tip of the island, or check out the archeological dig of Akrotiri, a prehistoric settlement.
Firenze, or Florence, is one of my all-time favourite destinations. There is a lot to see and do here. Gaze upon the Ponte Vecchio, visit the Uffizi Gallery, climb the bell tower at Duomo, see the statue of David at the Galleria Accademia, explore the Piazza del Signoria, Boboli Gardens, Pitti Palace and Piazzale Michelangelo.
I love travelling to Europe. The history, culture, architecture, countryside & the people all make for an amazing holiday.
