Beautiful Barbados

A glimpse into my journey to Barbados - a country at the very top of my 'Bucket List' full of incredible experiences and sights!

Beaches: Barbados is famous for its stunning beaches and I had the chance to explore some of the best.  From the powdery sands and vibrant coral reefs of Carlisle Bay, or the picturesque tranquillity of Bottom Bay to the lively atmosphere of Rockley Beach - the choice is yours.

Oistins Fish Fry: Friday nights at Oistins Fish Fry are a must-visit experience. Indulge in delectable freshly caught seafood, from grilled fish and shrimp to flavorful lobster, all while enjoying live music, dancing, and a vibrant atmosphere.

Wildlife Encounters: Barbados is home to diverse wildlife, and I had the opportunity to witness it up close - swimming alongside majestic sea turtles in the crystal-clear waters, and visiting the Barbados Wildlife Reserve to see green monkeys and other exotic animals.

Bridgetown Exploration: The capital city of Bridgetown offers a mix of history, culture, and modern attractions. You must explore the UNESCO-listed historic centre and marvel at the impressive colonial architecture, such as St. Nicholas Abbey and the historic Garrison area. I also enjoyed the vibrant markets, local shops, and sampled delicious Bajan cuisine!

Rum Distilleries: Barbados is renowned for its rum production, and I embarked on a journey to discover the island's rich rum heritage. Visiting iconic distilleries like Mount Gay or Foursquare, I learned about the distillation process, tasted a variety of rum styles, and appreciated the craftsmanship behind the island's beloved spirit.

Bathsheba and East Coast Adventure: I ventured to the rugged and picturesque East Coast of Barbados to discover the enchanting beauty of Bathsheba, which is known for its dramatic rock formations, awe-inspiring scenery and powerful Atlantic waves.

Crop Over Festival:  If you are fortunate to visit Barbados during the Crop Over Festival (June-August), you can immerse yourself in the island's vibrant culture at this special time. Join colourful parades, dance to lively calypso and soca music, indulge in mouthwatering local delicacies, and celebrate the island's rich heritage with locals and fellow visitors.

These are just a short overview of the incredible experiences and sights I encountered during my time in Barbados. The island's natural beauty, vibrant culture, and warm hospitality left an indelible mark.  I will have my cherished memories of Barbados for years to come.  If you'd like to experience Barbados with the expertise of a travel specialist, please get in touch.
