I love solo travel. It offers you the freedom to explore the world your way. As a lifelong traveller myself, I’ve covered many corners of the globe.
I began solo travelling early in my 20s. Solo travel back then meant jumping on a tour or staying in hostels as a way to meet new people.
But as we hit our 40s (and beyond), our travel style evolves. As life and work get busy, our holidays became even more important. We no longer want to stay in hostels to meet people, but staying in a hotel alone can feel isolating. It’s nice to have people to dine with, to go to the local wine bar with, or explore those off-the-beaten-track places.
Group tours may still be a good option but being solo among a sea of couples can be daunting. And then there are the pesky (and costly) single supplements. Unless you want to share with a stranger (umm, no thanks!).
I understand the challenges faced by solo travellers.

From the moment I first contacted Alyssa, she was nothing but friendly and accommodating. She was easy to contact, quick to respond and was able to answer any queries that I had, making the whole process of arranging a last minute trip away a breeze. Her expertise in all areas of travel is clear and her thoughtful personal touches really provide an amazing customer experience. Alyssa's tour was well organised and fun - not the same run of the mill activities that are usually included, but well thought out activities. The small group format also made the tour a unique experience which provided opportunities for the building of beautiful memories and new friendships.I could not recommend Alyssa enough to anyone looking to travel.

I attended this trip in October 2023 It was an amazing experience, something different every day. The itinerary was different every day from safaris, amazing hikes, tea plantations and individual experiences. I love the small group approach and having our host as part of our trip. Excellent tour guide too ! Loved the short break at the Maldives Highly recommended

Alyssa has now organised 3 trips for our family. She has an amazing knowledge of countries all over the world and was able to provide us with great accommodation and recommend tours/activities that were fun for the whole family. Our latest trip itinerary was available through an app which made life so easy whilst on the run in Europe. We will continue to use Alyssa for future trips, and I'd highly recommend her to those considering using a Travel Agent.

A few months back, I contacted Alyssa with the goal of ticking Kangaroo Island, Adelaide and the McLaren Vale off my travel bucket list.Travel advice and requirements, at the time, were changing rapidly and it was a huge reassurance to know Alyssa was across all those changes and at the other end of the phone or email with the answer to any question I had.Alyssa helped plan my trip end-to-end, incorporating unique experiences into the itinerary to make it the amazing trip I knew it would be. I went on the Solo Made Red Centre Explorer tour in May 2022, and I had a fantastic time. Alyssa was a great host, and took care of everything to make sure the tour went smoothly. The sites we visited were phenomonal and this was truly a bucket list trip.

Alyssa is a lovely travel manager that goes above and beyond for the clients. Her tours are designed well and everything is on tour is thought -out to be purposeful. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to travel but is sick of doing it solo!

Despite the delays caused by Covid, Alyssa managed to rearrange everything and the trips to South Australia- Kangaroo island and the Barossa- were fabulous! Well organised, no delays, always well communicated and lots of fun. I hope to join another tour in the future and will contact Alyssa for assistance again.

I did my first overseas tour (I normally travel alone) through/with Alyssa to Georgia in July 2024. It exceeded expectations. Loved it all. We saw so much and had a great amount of fun. I met Alyssa through her SoloMade Red Centre tour in 2022 and have since used Alyssa to book flights, transport and accommodation in Europe and Australia. Alyssa is friendly and always very responsive to any questions you have (I always have lots!). She can work within your budget and has your documents very well organised. Our 6 week Europe trip was managed by Alyssa Pretorius and as a whole the trip went soo well! We had no issues with the flights, accomodation and tours booked.
