I love our natural world. Inspired as a young boy by wild animals wandering through the family farm in Zimbabwe, I grew up destined to become a safari guide to the great wild places of our beautiful earth.
Fast forward and I remain fascinated by ecological links and landscapes and the communities around them, building my career leading and managing some of the most highly acclaimed camps in Africa. In 1994 I stood out from the crowd to win the Zimbabwe Professional Guides Association ‘Guide of the Year’ award, later going on to teach and become an examiner myself.
A dab hand with a camera, my eye for detail has also seen me win a number of photography prizes. My work has been published in various magazines, as well as in books such as The Wild Heart of Africa by Rolf Baldus, and Kariba Birds. I also spent extended time behind the lens in Belize, commissioned to take photographs for Belizean National Parks. I also enjoy giving talks to various groups around the country and showing my photos in the process.
After 11 years in Tanzania, my family and I moved to call Australia home in 2016. We have two children and are very much enjoying bringing up a new generation of world explorers. I have grown particularly passionate about showing all new travellers the places I have loved and seeing them again through fresh eyes. Africa is my specialty and I find great reward in designing personalised itineraries and tours. For me, it’s the next best thing to being out there when I can’t be out there myself and I love to trade stories with the many clients who return to Journeys Worldwide again and again.

Although we are originally from South Africa and thought we could arrange our safari from abroad, we are very, very grateful that we used the services of Sean at Journeys Worldwide.He suggested alternatives we had not considered, made us reconsider some of our decisions, and subtly nudged us to make better choices. We've just returned from a wonderful safari trip to Tanzania and organized and led by Sean Lues of Journeys Worldwide. The trip was superbly organized from beginning to end. No task was to small for Sean to attend to and guides Onesmo and Walter were the best we've ever had. Quarters, transport, food and animal viewing were all top-notch. Sean organised all our flights, accommodation, day trips and pick up and drop off’s. He was easy to work with, gave great advice and suggestions. We did Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pilansberg safari and relaxed at Sun City. Was my second trip organised by Sean, highly recommend Journeys Worldwide.

Sean from Journeys Worldwide has been awesome navigating flights and cancellations and rebooking due to covid all the upsets it caused. Have used this company for cruises and trips to South Africa and they have been very easy to deal with.

Sean and the team were so unbelievably honest, helpful, knowledgable and capable that it made our multi-faceted trip to Africa a breeze. I'm very glad I decided to bring a location-specialised agent on-board to assist with pulling everything together so we could then just enjoy the trip and know everything was in-hand. Sean has great local knowledge, having lived there and an amazing team on the ground. The hotel and tour recommendations were fantastic. Greatly appreciate and will definitely use again.
