WA's Coral Coast - time to switch off!!

WA's Coral Coast - time to switch off!!

Do you ever feel like life is too busy and it is time to slow down, even if just for a week?  If so, then a visit to the Coral Coast is just what you need!

We have spent many holidays on the Coral Coast over the years. They haven't all been as glamorous as our last one. We were lucky enough to spend 3 nights at the beautiful Sal Salis, located in Cape Range National Park, on the Ningaloo Marine Park.

It is the perfect location to get away from it all, escape from devices and completely switch off. With no mobile phone reception (and we are mindful this is not for everyone, but we do think everyone should do this once in a while), it allows you to just enjoy your surroundings. White, sandy beaches, snorkelling on pristine reeds, hiking the trails in Cape Range National Park, exploring "where the desert meets the ocean", and waking up every morning to the chirps of native birds.

We would always say you need a minimum of 3 nights at Sal Salis.

But if time permits a few extra nights are definitely recommended. Depending on the time of year, why not head off for the day to swim with Whale Sharks (best time is from April to July) or later in the season, you can head out and interact with Humpback Whales.

The Glamping Tents have every comfort you would want; a hammock out the front, a comfortable bed with the sounds of the waves breaking on the reef and views that make a lie-in so enjoyable and an outdoor bathroom that certainly makes it a glamping experience. No need for shoes once you arrive; let the sand get between your toes. The staff will take fabulous care of every need, with an open bar and all meals included in the rate (all-inclusive).

Meet fellow travellers for sundowners on the deck pre-dinner and talk about the turtles, reef sharks and thousands of reef fish you saw during the day. As the sun goes down, enjoy some fantastic, dark sky star-gazing after dinner with a nightcap in hand.

It really is the perfect place to unwind and recharge the batteries, and should be on everyone's bucket list. We love this part of our own backyard and can't wait to get back!
