Fiji: Perfection & More
On our first time visit to Fiji we were taken by surprise.
Expecting beautiful scenery and fun times, resorts and water activities, our experience turned out to be some of that ... and a whole lot more!
It's the ' more ' that made the most impact on us.
The Fijians are the most friendly, beautiful, and caring people that we have ever come across (besides the Cubans).
No one passes by without saying 'Bula' (Hello in Fijian). Not just Bula, but with a massive smile on their faces. So warm and welcoming.
Another 'more' is everything operates on 'Fiji Time.'
What is 'Fiji Time', you say?
'Fiji Time' has been described as 'A notional system of time accounting for people's tendency to be leisurely, not rigorous about rescheduling and often tardy' - so conducive to stress-free relaxation.
The most significant 'more' for us was learning about the concept of Village life and the love, care and respect for others that it represents.
The staff at the resort where we stayed return to their villages at the end of their shifts and resume village life.
The people live by the saying 'Veilomani' - Love one another. So powerful.
If you haven't been to Fiji you should.
If Fiji is not on your agenda - add it.
You won't regret it!
