Our trip included stays at the new Six Senses Hotel in Rome, Le Sirenuse in Positano, Sextantio in Sassi, Hotel Santa Caterina in Amalfi and Hotel Risorgimento in Lecce.
The standout moments? The breathtaking vistas from my room at Le Sirenuse looking out over Positano, the unique experience of a Sassi cave stay and immersing myself in the vibrant heart of one of Puglia's most stunning cities.
While the accommodation was exceptional, there's so much more to the experience! For those who love their history, visiting Ostia Antica is a must. Only 30 minutes from Rome and far less crowded than Pompeii, it offers a well-preserved journey through the past among its ruins. For the foodies, indulge in a hands-on traditional Italian pizza-making class, and for the car lovers, a vintage car tour around Rome is perfect.
En route to Positano, Naples, makes for an excellent lunch stop. Why limit yourself to just one place though? Set off on a walking tour, and savour a variety of local specialties!
Positano and the Amalfi Coast are filled with picturesque moments, relaxing vibes, and so much colour, (and oh the food!)
The Sassi di Matera is truly extraordinary. These caves, inhabited from ancient times until just 70 years ago, lay abandoned until Hollywood’s interest led to their UNESCO World Heritage listing. Now, you can step into a bygone era. Opt for an Ape Calessino tour for an authentic local experience.
Lecce is steeped in layers of history. It's not just a fascinating destination in itself, but also serves as a strategic hub to explore the diverse wonders of the entire Puglia region. Make sure to include a visit to a Masseria.
And then there is the food and wine! I think the pictures will speak for themselves!
