On this trip, it was time to visit my brother in Bergen, Norway. Such a stunning coastal town that is very popular in the summer months for the many cruise ship arrivals. I recommend hiring a car to get out in the countryside or experiencing the very popular 'Norway in a Nutshell'. The scenery is just stunning.
A quick stop in Munich for Oktoberfest. You can just see me clinking my stein in a Dirndl dress, can't you? I had such fun, it really comes alive at night with all the bands playing in the beer halls.
From Munich, a 5 hour train ride brings us to the cute town of Ljubljana, located in Slovenia. We explored this magical town and the countryside, including Lake Bled, which really does look like it belongs in a fairytale! Hop on a traditional pletna boat and cruise to the island—where you’ll ring the bell at the church and make a wish, of course! Stroll around the peaceful lake, and hike up to Bled Castle for its stunning views. Don't leave without indulging in a slice of Bled’s famous kremšnita (cream cake).
Next up, we got ready to cruise through one of Europe’s most stunning coastlines—Croatia! With its crystal-clear waters, charming islands, and picturesque towns, the Croatian coast is the ultimate destination for those who love the sun, sea, and a bit of history. Starting in Opatija, we sailed through the sparkling Adriatic, hopping from one idyllic island to the next. Whether you’re swimming in hidden coves, enjoying fresh seafood, or sipping a glass of local wine, the Croatian coast is the perfect place to unwind and explore.
Last stop, Milan for our flight home, where no European trip is complete without a cruise around Lake Como and stop for an Aperol Spritz.
