An unforgettable trip to West Coast USA.
An adventure that took me through the magical world of Disneyland, the vibrant streets of Los Angeles, the dazzling lights of Las Vegas, and the enchanting cityscape of San Francisco.
My journey began in Anaheim, where I stepped into the whimsical, magical Kingdom of Disneyland. As soon as I set foot in the park, I was greeted by the iconic Sleeping Beauty Castle, which instantly transported me to a realm of childhood dreams. The exhilarating rides, lively parades, and beloved Disney characters brought out the inner child in me, creating memories that would last a lifetime.
Leaving the enchantment of Disney behind, I made my way to the bustling city of Los Angeles. As I strolled along the Hollywood Walk of Fame, I marvelled at the names of the famous stars embedded in the sidewalk. The stars don't just pay homage to the entertainment legends of the silver screen, but directors, TV stars and more. The vibrant atmosphere of the city, with its eclectic mix of cultures and diverse neighbourhoods, captivated my senses. From the glamorous boutiques of Rodeo Drive to the cultural melting pot of Koreatown, Los Angeles offered a multitude of experiences that showcased the city's unique charm.
Disneyland Travel Tip:
Arrive early and make the most of ‘Golden Hour’! Have a Rope Drop plan (enter when it opens) to best utilise the hours from 8am through to 11am. This is when the parks are the least crowded. See more of my trip to Disneyland here.
Continuing my journey, I ventured into the desert oasis of Las Vegas.
The city's dazzling lights and vibrant energy are simply mesmerizing. The iconic Las Vegas Strip, adorned with its extravagant resorts and world-renowned casinos, and the spectacular shows left me in awe. Las Vegas proves over and over again to be a city like no other. The thrill of the roulette table and the exhilaration of the slot machines create an electrifying ambience that fills the air. Whether it's exploring the grand hotels, indulging in gourmet cuisine, or witnessing the breathtaking fountain displays of the Bellagio, Las Vegas embraces you with its glitz and glamour.
Vegas Travel Tip:
Plan ahead! There is so much to see and do in Vegas. Planning ahead will ensure you have the time to see everything you want to, and also fit in things you find along the way!
The final leg of my journey led me to the iconic city of San Francisco.
Crossing the majestic Golden Gate Bridge, I was greeted by the city's picturesque skyline and the iconic fog rolling in from the Pacific Ocean. The steep streets of San Francisco, lined with charming Victorian houses, offered an irresistable nostalgic charm. Exploring neighbourhoods like Fisherman's Wharf, Chinatown, and Haight-Ashbury (the historic centre of the Hippy and Gay Rights movements), I immersed myself in the city's rich history and cultural diversity. The cable cars rattled up and down the hills, and the aroma of freshly baked sourdough bread filled the air, adding to the city's unique character.
San Francisco Travel Tip:
A trip to San Francisco isn’t complete without visiting Alcatraz! Be sure to book tickets early as they sell out in advance. Wear comfortable shoes and warm clothes on your visit as it gets quite cold on the island.
In the end, my journey through Disneyland, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and San Francisco was a whirlwind of excitement, wonder, and awe. Each destination offered its own distinct flavour, leaving an indelible mark on my heart. From the enchantment of childhood dreams to the bright lights of the entertainment capital. From the electric energy of the desert city to the charming beauty of San Francisco Bay. This trip was a kaleidoscope of unforgettable experiences that will forever hold a special place in my memories.
