Mexico City with its colour, traditions and rich history is a great starting place to get a feel for the people, their culture and their way of life.
So much to see & do - a lot within walking distance.
Moving on to Oaxaca! This city is becoming a must-visit & for obvious reasons.
First of all, it is an emerging tourist destination so less crowded - Shhhhh!
It has fun festivals, galleries & museums, & a vibrant food culture supported by amazing fresh food markets. In turn, there are revolutionary restaurants serving 'Oaxacan' unique dishes.
There are many day trips around the region & there is a diverse indigenous population.
Next stop San Cristobel de las Casas located in Chiapas.
Meander through the streets and admire the preserved colonial architecture.
Experience the history of the Zinacantan & Chamula indigenous people and interact with them going about their modern-day lives.
Next stop, the Yucatan.
Excellent base for visiting ruins, cenotes and various wildlife.
It's now time to relax on a beautiful Caribbean Beach set in an eco-environment - no casinos, resorts, 'all inclusives' but still plenty to see & do in a relaxed environment.
