Turning 50 is a big deal, so what better way to celebrate than a trip to paradise? Koh Samui was calling, and we answered with a trip filled with amazing food, stunning sights, and unforgettable adventures.
We checked into Meliá Koh Samui, and wow—what a place! Gorgeous beachfront views, lush gardens, and the kind of service that makes you feel like royalty. Waking up to the sound of the ocean and sipping coffee while watching the waves? Absolute bliss.
Exploring local markets was a must. We wandered through the bustling stalls, tasting exotic fruits, sipping fresh coconut water, and indulging in all the delicious Thai street food we could get our hands on. The locals? So warm and welcoming—always ready to share a smile and their best food recommendations! Of course, we made time for some of Koh Samui’s best restaurants too. Every meal was a flavour-packed experience—fragrant curries, fresh seafood, and the perfect Pad Thai. Seriously, Thai food just hits different when you're in Thailand!
Koh Samui is drop-dead gorgeous. Picture-perfect beaches, crystal-clear waters—everywhere we looked was straight out of a postcard. One of the highlights? The Jungle Club. Perched up in the hills, it had the most insane views of the island. We enjoyed a fabulous lunch and sipped cocktails as the sun dipped below the horizon—pure magic.
We also took a little side trip to Koh Paluay, a stunning, untouched paradise. No crowds, just us and the beauty of nature. It felt like our own secret escape.
We didn’t just lounge around—we got out and explored! Tuk-tuk rides around the island were a blast, giving us a real taste of local life. But the real showstopper? A trip to Mu Koh Ang Thong National Marine Park. Kayaking through emerald waters, snorkelling with colourful fish, and hiking up to jaw-dropping viewpoints—absolute bucket-list material!
This trip was everything we dreamed of and more—great friends, breathtaking places, and memories to last a lifetime. Koh Samui totally stole our hearts. Whether you're celebrating something big or just need an epic getaway, this island is pure magic!
