I’ve been working in the travel industry for over 30 years now. Over that time I’ve met many wonderful people and have been lucky enough to travel to some amazing places. You could say travel is my passion.
I didn’t start out as a travel agent though. My first job was as a high school teacher. During my teacher training, I travelled to Bali and Java in Indonesia on a study tour, and that’s when the travel bug bit! Everything was so exotic and foreign to me, the food, the people and the amazing sights. Back at home, I continued teaching for another two years, and then I knew that travel was something I wanted to do full-time.
Over the years, I’ve worked as a travel agent in a local agency helping people plan and book everything from business trips to weddings and honeymoons. There’s also been a lot of package holidays, family trips, couples getaways and people travelling on their own. No matter what type of trip, I’ve loved helping people see the world. I’ve also worked as a telephone consultant for a wholesale travel company and got to specialise in airfares.
Now it’s time to bring a real personal touch to what I do. Working as a personal travel manager gives me the time and flexibility to help you plan your travel without the constraints of a traditional office. It means I can spend more time with you and what you need.

Jon was very helpful with organising our short trip to Japan, regardless of how many questions I asked he was very professional and quick to respond to emails and organising our travel insurance. It made all the preparations go much smoother, thanks Jon for all your help. We will go through you for our next holiday.

When it comes to professionalism and service I should like to commend Jon Simmons for going over and above in his handling of my travel arrangements and when my circumstances changed unexpectedly he again went over and above to get me the best outcome possible in the situation whilst showing kindness and compassion.I can only say that I hold him in the highest regard and would never entrust anyone else with my travel arrangementsHe is indeed a credit to the industry.

We have booked our flight tickets from Jon for over 15 years. Jon is professional, knowledgeable and caring travel agent. He loves feedbacks (good or bad) and remembered little things like our seats and diet preferences. We feel confident and stress free booking through Jon. During our last trip to NZ. I wasn’t aware I needed an NZeTA (New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority) until Jon told me so. This had saved me from stuck at the airport without a proper entry’s document. Jon’s services are not limited to ticket booking.
