Ben is a seasoned travel planner from Toowoomba, Australia, who has been an integral part of Globetrotters Travel & Cruise since July 2020. Assisting his father, Paul Apsey, in managing the family travel agency located in Toowoomba City, Ben brings a wealth of experience and passion to his role.
Ben is well-travelled, having explored Europe, Asia, North America, and Australia, with memorable trips to Italy, Ireland, Switzerland, Tasmania, the USA on the Rocky Mountaineer, the Maldives, China, and the Pacific Islands. He has also enjoyed voyages with Princess, Royal Caribbean, P&O, Virgin Voyages, and Carnival Cruises. Ben’s enthusiasm for travelling, meeting new people, and discovering the wonders of the world is reflected in his dedication to assisting clients with all their travel planning needs.
In late 2024, Ben is set to embark on new adventures to Northern Italy and then will be heading off his kids to Disneyland California. His ultimate bucket list includes stepping foot on all seven continents, with Antarctica being at the top of his list.
Beyond his love for travel, Ben has a passion for quality coffee, the built environment, rail, performing arts, and of course, the excitement of new destinations. This diverse array of interests enriches his ability to create unique and fulfilling travel experiences for his clients.
Located at 172 Margaret Street in the heart of Toowoomba, Globetrotters Travel & Cruise offers a comprehensive range of travel services. The agency originally opened as Darling Downs Travel Agency in 1949 and while the name has changed, it is proudly one of Queensland's oldest continuously running travel agencies, having operated at the same location for 75 years!
Under Ben's leadership, Globetrotters continues to uphold its long-standing tradition of excellence, a commitment recognised with nominations for the Most Outstanding Leisure Travel Agency - Single Location title during the 2023 and 2024 National Travel Industry Awards with the agency thrilled to have been named a finalist in 2023. Ben has also been recognised for his commitment and service to the travel industry and is honoured to have received a nomination for the Most Outstanding Travel Agency Manager title at the 2024 NTIAs.
