I started working in travel in London back in the 90's (yes probably before some of you were born)! I had always had a keen interest in travelling and went backpacking by myself to the UK and Europe. All I had was a one-way ticket and $1500. After travelling though Greece and Turkey for 10 weeks I was living in a hotel where they offered me a job in the Travel Agency. Since then, I haven't looked back. Over 20 years and many countries later, here I am, still in the industry and working for MTA.
It's a fantastic industry to be involved in, with the opportunity to travel to exotic destinations. I have been so fortunate and have been taken to some amazing places like China, Zanzibar, Dubai, Doha and Khao Lak, just to name a few.
Although the travel is great, my favourite aspect of my career is my clients. I love how over the years I've met young couples who I've booked their first holiday together. The next time I see them it's to plan their honeymoon and then a few years later their first family holiday with their new addition. It makes my job very fulfilling!
