WHO IS IT FOR?
This is a women’s only tour. This tour has come about due to the number of requests we have had from solo women travellers to come on our tour. You will get to experience the best that Croatia has to offer and the relaxing pace and small group environment that has made our Slow Travel Tours to Croatia so popular over the last 20 years.
Since this tour is late October and early November, you may not be swimming in the ocean (although judging by temperatures last year, you might), but what you will experience is a much more local feel in the towns, with less tourists. You will feel the real hum of the cities and towns as the locals return to ‘normal’ life after a typically busy and hectic season.
Many people think that because Charles is an Artist that this is a tour for artists, but the truth is, this is a tour for anyone and everyone - no artistic skills required. It is not an art or painting tour - it is a relaxing holiday! If you enjoy travelling at a relaxed pace, staying in beautiful hotels in magnificent locations, dining in cafes and restaurants and having plenty of free time to do as you please, then this is a tour for you. A perfect combination of organised activities and free time. It is to be considered a holiday, with some painting and sketching thrown in for those (if any) wishing to paint.
IF YOU ARE A PAINTER
Charles is tour leader and although he may be doing some sketching/photography and film making on occasion, it needs to be made clear that this is not a workshop type of tour. You are having a holiday and painting a little if you wish. You may be painting with Charles, but he will not necessarily be giving lessons, although he is happy to give advice if you seek it. He is happy for you to watch him paint or sketch. He suggests you approach the tour as a chance to do some sketching and/or painting in some amazing locations that he will show you, and treat your work as a visual journal of a great holiday. How much painting/sketching you do on this tour is your choice. It is important to Charles that you feel relaxed and free to paint as little or as much as you like, or not at all.

NOTE: Paying the refundable $1000 deposit secures a place for you on the 2025 tour - unless the maximum number of bookings has been reached at the time of your booking and you have the option to be placed on a waiting list. In November 2024 (when prices are finalised), you will have a choice of confirming your place, or forfeiting your place and receiving a full refund of your deposit.
