With the upheaval from 2020 onwards, it gave me the time to start my own Italian genealogy research in earnest. During this time, I realised there wasn't any one go-to document of how to research, where to find the birth, deaths and marriages records, or who to ask for help etc etc. Google search results gave me millions of records but nothing specific for what I needed. So I am about to launch my beta version of a 4 week virtual programme in Italian genealogical research specifically for central Italy. Why this area? Because they were part of the Papal States and Kingdom of Two Sicilies pre-unification that makes record searching interesting!
My favourite destinations are of course central Italy. Two hours from Rome and you come across a multitude of towns steeped in amazing history - recent and not so recent! I am loving the discoveries currently being made from the archaelogical digs in the towns of Priverno, Terracina and Sonnino (my ancestral home) are causing for history books to be rewritten in due course.

Even though I specialise in central Italy, I can also recommend other parts of Italy whether it be a customised itinerary or general tour. Operators that I like to use are Ormina Tours and Collette Tours just to name two.

Our trip was organised by Daiana. From leaving Perth to flying to Europe and home again. We stayed in great hotels. Our transfers from airports were in private vehicles. We found Daiana to be very thorough and professional. We definitely would recommend Daiana to anyone we know traveling.

I want to share with you all the wonderful experience that we had by using Daiana Magalhaes's expertise from TravelManagers Australia – Dianella. We got married in January 2021, and we had no idea where we could go for our honeymoon. I contacted Daiana, and after a few investigatory questions from her, she prepared a travel itinerary for us to review. She suggested Christmas Island and Cocos Island. We trusted Daiana and her contacts with the preparations and excursions for 10 days. We had such a great time we called Daiana and extended our honeymoon for a few more days. It was no problem! All done without a hassle. Two days before our departure, COVID hit. Again Daiana was in contact with us all the time, keeping tags on the hotel and airlines. We had nothing to worry. We had a flight out home on schedule and no additional costs. We recommended Daiana to anyone that is looking for a holiday and wants peace of mind. We will certainly be using her services again.
