As per my countless visits before, Santorini in 2023 was an absolute blast. For me, it is the destination that sits number one.
It fulfils me each time with its unique landscape, breathtaking views, sea of blue, friendly locals and much more...
Pyrgos Kallistis, Santorini
This year, along with my family, I stayed in Pyrgos, which is an ancient medieval town surrounded by vineyards.
This town is away from the hustle and bustle of the main towns in Santorini, so you get to experience a lot more interaction with the beautiful Santorinian locals. They are genuine, warm and hospitable people, making it a delight to mix in with them.
Is Santorini the Best of the Greek Islands?
Santorini, on the whole, is a beautiful island of Greece. We know that there are many great islands in Greece. Comparisons are difficult because each island has its own uniqueness and character. It is better to avoid any comparison and savour it for its own distinct character.
What to do in Santorini?
There is a bit of everything to do and see in Santorini. There is its volcanic landscape, wild nature, rugged cliffs and beautiful shores. This is combined with its rich history and traditions, making it a true marvel of Greece.
Its whitewashed village buildings with blue-domed churches, particularly on the Caldera view side, is quite sensational. It is picturesque and stunning at the same time in every aspect.
Then there's the food and wine, combined with its culture, making it special and memorable each time one visits Santorini.
