I'm just back from visiting Viking Cruise's Orion.
You would have seen Viking’s ads on TV - No Casinos, No Kids!!! Sounds like bliss, right??
So straight away you know Viking is an experience for grown-ups. It's unapologetically Scandinavian in style and nature; unostentatious but classy, and ever so comfortable.........
What makes Viking different?
They call themselves the 'thinking person's' cruise line, combining exploration with learning and cultural enrichment. A resident historian, onboard lectures, port talks, and a curated library count among their many inclusions.
Small in size (max 930 passengers) allows docking in small ports or the heart of a city (London, for example!), which larger ships simply can't do. They spend more time in port, sometimes even overnight, meaning more time for you to explore.
Value and inclusions
You can’t go past their value – all cabins have a balcony, 24-hour room service and Wi-Fi. Beverages are included with meals plus tea, coffee & water all day, 8 dining options with no cover charge, shore excursions in each port, tipping & taxes.
There is also no charge for spa access, where you can do the Nordic bathing ritual (sauna, snow room & pool), ongoing entertainment and a self-service laundry!
All this is complemented by a beautifully trained crew, who deliver a subtle and sophisticated level of unobtrusive service. Very nice……….
