Experience the Magic of Vienna

Experience the Magic of Vienna

Vienna is one of those magical and historic cities, an underrated jewel of Europe. A nation brimming with culture and unique experiences.

This historic city has witnessed wars with Napoleon, fought off Turkish invasions and has been an enduring symbol of resilience. All of which add to making the people and city what it is today.

As an Austria travel expert who has had the pleasure of visiting multiple times, here are a few insider tips to guide you.

Where to Stay

When planning your stay, consider the Intercontinental Hotel. This well-positioned location is just a step back from the vibrant Ringstrasse, the grand boulevard the circles the inner city, and a casual stroll away from the Mozart recital halls.

What I love most is that behind the hotel, there is a meeting place and activity area that transforms with the seasons. It morphs from an ice skating rink in winter, to vibrant beach volleyball courts in the summer.

What to See

Start with a stroll along the Ringstrasse, the grand boulevard that circles the inner city. From here, you can visit the neo-classical colonnades of the Parliament buildings and the gothic-style City Hall.

Depending on your specific tastes, from here you can visit some of Europe's best Museums, Cathedrals and Palaces  (talk to me, and I can recommend them based on your preferences) or the famous Spanish Riding School and experience the famous stallions taking their daily exercise.

Experiencing an opera or concert performance is an absolute must while holidaying in Vienna, being the world's capital of music. You will be spoilt for choice with many venues and performances available to you.

Visiting this Café is a MUST

Don't miss out on visiting the iconic Hotel Sacher, home to the esteemed café renowned for its indulgent pastries and charming ambience.

Don't forget to snap the obligatory photo when trying the famous Sachertorte that was created by Franz Sacher and originated here.

Get out of Town

While it's only natural that most first-time visitors to Austria will plan their stays in Vienna, the capital and largest city in Austria, I recommend venturing beyond! Austria has many picturesque towns that you simply must see to get a good understanding of the destination.

From the Trumer Pils beer and Sound of Music locations in Salzburg, the architectural wonders of Graz, the abbey in Melk, or the Alpine views of Innsbruck, there are countless spots I could recommend for you.

Austria is a treasure trove of experiences just waiting to be discovered.
